Brecon is an attractive rural market town nestling next to the river Usk at the northern edge of  the spectacular Brecon Beacons. The ancient county town with over 500 listed buildings revels in an attractive mix of Georgian architecture and historic sites.

Behind the hustle and bustle of the town is a small Cathedral which dates back to Norman times and  was a place of  pilgrimage in the middle ages.

Brecon's shopping facilities are outstanding for a town of it's size, with a new Bethel Square shopping development, a cinema and a wide range of local independent outlets.

The Brecon Theatre stages events that vary from local workshop productions, to internationally renowned musicals and operas.

The Leisure Centre is open 7 days a week, and comprises of many sporting / fitness facilities including a swimming pool, squash courts and gymnasium.

This 3 day event in August attracts thousands of visitors. You don't have to be a Jazz enthusiast to enjoy it.
